SPRAY FOAM INSULATION

Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation is great for retrofits.

Spray foam insulation systems reach all the places you can’t: behind wires, inside cracks, gaps, exterior nail penetrations, you name it. It’s perfect for irregularly shaped areas and is often used for retrofits. In addition, spray foam insulation leaves you with a virtually perfect air barrier. Not only does it give you a higher R-value per square inch, but it also has multiple applications. Compared to traditional insulation products, spray foam insulation enables you to lower your heating and cooling energy usage by as much as 50-60% for the life of your home, making it the most energy-efficient product you can have installed.

BLOWN-IN INSULATION

Blown-in Insulation

Blown-in insulation reduces air infiltration up to 68%.

Blown-in insulation can give you higher R-values, supreme sound control, and a level-five Flame Spread (Nonflammable/Noncombustible). R-values are based on the type, thickness, and density of the material being used. Measuring thickness with a ruler, R-value is an indication of thermal resistance. Insulation with a higher R-value will perform better and have a greater ability to resist heat transfer than those with a lower rating. They are one of the most important qualities to note when choosing insulation products for your PortlandVancouverEugene, or Salem home.

Aside from being fairly economical, blown-in insulation is often much easier to install in hard-to-reach places, which means it works well around stove vents, chimneys, and other obstacles. Made with at least 25% or more recycled content than other insulation systems, blown-in insulation is environmentally friendly. With applications of Retrofit, New Construction, Wood Frame, Steel Frame, Residential, and Commercial, the blown-in insulation system is essentially limitless.

ACOUSTIC INSULATION

Acoustic Insulation

Acoustical sound insulation gives you peace and quiet.

Limit unwanted noise in a home or building with acoustical sound insulation. By using rigid and semi-rigid foam boards, as well as denser insulation material designed specifically for sound reduction, Knez can create amazing results for anyone looking to quiet unwanted noise.

Soundproofing works by reducing the transmission of unwanted sound waves that cause echoes and reverberation. Acoustical sound insulation is used in a wide variety of buildings, including libraries, auditoriums, and halls, and work nicely in the home setting. Knez installs products to reduce and cancel out the transference of noise from one room to the next.

Watch TV in bed in your Eugene home while the baby sleeps in the next room, or keep the school marching band and all the fans at the game, and not in your Salem living room. Keep the musician in the house actually in the basement and not at the dinner table of your Vancouver home. Do you have noisy neighbors or live in a high-traffic area near Portland? We can help keep your home both quiet and comfortable.

Foam Board Insulation

Foam Board

Foam board insulation is ideal for high-moisture areas.

Styrofoam insulation, more commonly called foam board insulation, can be used to insulate almost any part of your Portland, Eugene, Salem, Vancouver, Clackamas, or Tigard home. From the roof, down to the foundation, these rigid panels of insulation add structural strength to your home while providing superior thermal resistance. Installing styrofoam insulation reduces the conduction of heat through structural elements like steel studs or wood.

The most common types of materials used in making styrofoam insulation include polystyrene, polyurethane, and polyisocyanurate or polyiso. Foam board insulation is ideal for high moisture areas, including under boat and marina homes, in between the concrete forms of a house, or between basement walls and the outside dirt.
