Insulation Applications
Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation systems have the ability to reach all the places you can't--behind wires, inside cracks, gaps, exterior nail penetrations--you name it. It's perfect for irregularly shaped areas, and is often used for retrofits. In addition, spray foam insulation leaves you with a virtually perfect air barrier. Not only does it give you a higher R-value per square inch, it has multiple applications. Compared to traditional insulation products, spray foam insulation enables you to lower your heating and cooling energy usage by as much as 50-60% for the life of your home, making it the most energy efficient product you can install.
Blown-In Insulation
Blown-in Insulation, also known as BIBS (Blow-In-Blanket System) insulation or loose fill insulation, is a unique method of air-injecting insulation behind mesh liners to prevent settling in the walls and ceilings. It is often used to insulate already existing homes or buildings that have no previous insulation, or where additional insulation is needed to insure greater quality for structures overall. Made up of loose particles which are blown into an attic or wall cavities, installation is usually done by a professional, as it requires special pneumatic equipment, and even distribution of the material is essential.
Three basic types of blown-in insulation are most commonly available: wool, fiberglass and cellulose insulation. Mineral wool insulation is made from rock or steel slag particles that come from recycled manufacturing waste. Fiberglass insulation is made up of small particles of spun glass fibers, and Cellulose insulation comes from recycled cardboard or newspapers. After chemical treatment, cellulose insulation is resistant to both flame and insects.
Acoustical Sound Insulation
Acoustical sound insulation can provide the perfect solution for limiting unwanted noise in a home or building. By using rigid and semi-rigid foam boards, and denser insulation material designed specifically for sound, we can create amazing results for anyone looking to quiet unwanted noise. Soundproofing works by reducing the transmission of unwanted sound waves that cause echoes and reverberation. Acoustical sound insulation is used in a wide variety of buildings and structures, including libraries, auditoriums, halls, courts, seminar rooms, etc.
Insulation Vacuum Removal
Insulation vacuum removal eliminates the time, effort, and added cost of older, outdated insulation removal methods. Instead of having to physically pick up and bag old insulation by hand, using a vacuum hose system makes removing old insulation from a home or building both quick and easy. Our powerful vacuums are designed for fast and efficient removal of smoke, fire, mold, and water damaged insulation from sidewalls, attics or crawl spaces.
Building Insulation
Insulation can range in form and function, including loose fill, batt and blanket, rigid board and spray foam. When it comes to home and building insulation, we often use Batt & Blanket. Batt and blanket insulation is made with either rock wool or processed fiberglass mineral fiber. It is most often used to insulate walls, below floors and above ceilings. Although it requires careful installation for the best performance, batt insulation is the least expensive wall insulation material. Updating a home with newer, better material will increase its durability in the long run, and using the right products can save valuable money on the costs of heating and cooling.
Styrofoam Insulation
Styrofoam insulation, more commonly called foam board insulation, can be used to insulate almost any part of your home. From the roof, down to the foundation, these rigid panels of insulation add structural strength to your home while providing superior thermal resistance. Installing styrofoam insulation reduces the conduction of heat through structural elements like steel studs or wood.
The most common types of materials used in making styrofoam insulation include polystyrene, polyurethane, and polyisocyanurate or polyiso. Foam board insulation is ideal for high moisture areas, including under boat and marina homes, in between the concrete forms of a house, or between basement walls and the outside dirt.
